a springtime awakening
This spring, I feel an awakening in my spirit, much like I do at the end of every long West Michigan winter. But this season, I’m experiencing an even greater contrast than usual: From sickness to recovery, from more thinking to more doing, from feeling stuck indoors to being called back outside. I’m eager to garden, to walk along the river, to chase my small children around each new park we seek to explore. And inside my home, I crave balance, simplicity, and belonging. A soft place to land after digging my hands in the dirt. A sweet spot to snuggle up after a day at the zoo. A welcoming place to recharge with a good read, interesting podcast, or laughter-inducing dance break after a productive work day.
